Delight yourself with our Azorean Menu!

Visiting the Azores is not synonym of an empty stomach, our incredible gastronomy promises to captivate you not only at first sight but also at the first bite! For this reason we decided to help you and prepare a complete menu for lunch or dinner with starters, main course, drink and dessert, so that you can taste some of our most typical delicacies in the most renowned restaurants of the island of São Miguel!

Starters

The starters prepare you for the main course and you have to start in the best possible way, that’s why we recommend some of the best starters on the island:

Try our famous black pudding with pineapple, the sweetness of this fruit with the perfectly seasoned black pudding is a combination of the gods!

Our grilled limpets with garlic, butter and lemon juice, is another great option, very tasty and that also allows you to taste our seafood that, modesty aside, is delicious!

Don’t forget the regional cheese or the Azorean butter, which have to be served with bread for the experience to be worthwhile, simply divine!

Main Course

After the starters, we go to the main course, the star of this menu, with several regional meats and vegetables, the Furnas Stew! This dish is cooked at Caldeiras das Furnas, on the island of São Miguel, over several hours and the wait is certainly worth it.

It consists in a great diversity of products and one of the best known restaurants when it comes to cooking this dish is “Tony’s”. We advise you to try just a little bit of everything, otherwise there will be no more room for dessert!

Drinks

We will keep improving this menu and for that, the best option is a glass of fresh “Laranjada”!  Is a very typical drink on the island of São Miguel and is produced by a local factory, Fábrica Melo Abreu. It is a soft drink with a fantastic orange flavor and perfect to accompany any meal!

Dessert

To finish this menu and warm the heart, a slice of chocolate cake always goes down very well! For lovers of a good chocolate cake we advise a trip to the Louvre Michaelense to try the “Segredo”. It is considered by many the best chocolate cake in the island and surroundings and its recipe remains a mystery, which is the reason for its name. You can also order a cup of tea and finish your meal in the best way with a walk through the beautiful city of Ponta Delgada!
